Allrode
Waterfalls and Mammoth Trees
Enchanted rambles through snowy forests, wild and romantic walks to the Echowiese meadow – that is the Harz village Allrode in winter. On a 450 m-high (1,476 ft) plateau, the natural beauty of the legendary Harz can be explored on eleven terrain cure trails while automatically inhaling beneficial ‘forest medicine’.
The climatic health resort offers a few natural phenomena: a 900-year-old mammoth tree stands by the wayside and there is a small waterfall, the Luppbodefall.
The central location of this Harz spa town allows access to the Bode-Selke-Stieg or the Hexenstieg in a two-hour hiking tour. Adventurers will love the ten-km (6.2-m) walk to the Rappbode Dam. Once arrived, walk across one of the world’s longest suspension bridges and take in the view across forests and mountains. Enjoy the unique atmosphere arising from the combination of incomparable nature and mythical character.
