Bad Bibra
Healing on the Finne Hills
The tranquil town of Bad Bibra in the Saale-Unstrut-Triasland Nature Park has been particularly blessed by nature. The once fashionable Baroque spa frequented by the dukes of Saxe-Weissenfels boasts a particularly iron-rich mineral spring. The bathing square features a Kneipp water treading pool.
Only a few steps in the refreshing spring water harmoniously rebalances the circulatory system.
A ‘Kneipp Walk’ that also leads through the municipal woods reveals the story behind this historical spring. Legend has it that the repeated application of the Bibra mineral water even cured Duke Christian’s eye condition. Far from the small alleyways in the Forst Bibra nature reserve a little luck will have you find various orchid species on the Muschelkalk slopes. Pause for a moment and let your gaze drift across the gentle hill ranges and little valleys. As Father Kneipp said, “All that we need to remain healthy has been bestowed on us in abundance by nature”.
